Wanted
I was enthralled by this trailer like many other people. I knew it looked to be a high on action, low on substance type of movie but I didn’t care. The trailer showed some pretty cool special effects and I am a sucker for those. I must say that on the surface I got what I expected. In reality i got much less. The plot was absolutely ridiculous. I know I said i wasn’t expecting one, but if you are going to try to portray an elaborate idea then you damn sure better make sure you can fill all the plot holes and answer all the questions the audience will have. This movie did absolutely none of those. I couldn’t believe how big of a story they tried to tell with so little pertinent info. It reminded me allot of the movie Jumper, which suffered from the same problems.
The action was also a bit of a problem. I was excited for the over the top action from the trailer and I got that and much more. The problem is that the much more was much less. There were some cool special effects and many over the top action scenes, but many seemed to have no reason and the really crazy stuff was not always pulled off very well. The training session made very little sense and seemed more of a waste of time than actually moving the story along. The entire thing seemed convoluted. My rating is not really low because i did enjoy many of the action scenes but I don’t know that I will watch it again.
My rating 6 out of 10
Here is the trailer.
